NBA Expansion Concept

For this project, I created a concept for a potential NBA expansion team based in Pittsburgh. With the NBA considering future expansion, several cities have emerged as candidates—Pittsburgh among them. The goal was to envision how a new franchise could take shape in a city known for its rich sports heritage. Nicknamed the “City of Champions,” Pittsburgh is home to three major professional sports teams—the Steelers (NFL), Penguins (NHL), and Pirates (MLB)—each with storied histories and loyal fan bases. Given its strong sports culture and dedicated supporters, Pittsburgh presents a compelling case as a future NBA market. This project explores branding, identity, and regional relevance for a hypothetical NBA team rooted in this vibrant sports city.
